AhlulBayt News Agency: A senior Iranian cleric has hailed Eid al-Adha as an axis of unity among Muslims across the globe.
Molavi Es’haq Madani made the remarks in the wake of the major Islamic occasion celebrated by Hajj pilgrims in Mecca and the world of Islam.
Eid al-Adha is marked on 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the twelfth month in the Islamic lunar calendar with communal prayer, sacrifice of a livestock animal and family festivities among the traditions marking the day.
The sacrifice is made in honor of Prophet Abraham’s full obedience of the Almighty God when he was ordered to sacrifice his only son, Ismail, before a ram was sent to be sacrificed instead.
The chairman of the supreme council at World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought hailed the communal prayer held on Eid al-Adha and said,” The presence and massive congregation of the Islamic nation perfectly reveals their unity.”
Molavi Madani lauded the sacrifice of livestock animals on the occasion of Eid al-Adha which is distributed among the needy stressing that the move strengthens the unity and promotes kindness among Muslims.
He called on the members of the Islamic nation to make the best of Eid al-Adha celebrations to boost the spirituality and honor of the Muslim community.
